Goose and gander

by Jeb

What if this interconnecting web, these wired and wireless relationships that bind us all together in a way that we’ve never experienced before, are manifesting along preexisting paths? Merely tapping into the flow of energy that has always been there, that has always connected us all to each other, and to everything. Even if we don’t know it.

What if the world’s people are like the cells of a single body, constantly in flux. The old die, the new grow and change and regenerate and reproduce. But all work together for the benefit of the whole. And are connected by virtue of the fact that they exist in the same system.

And what if we’re at a point in our evolution where we come to realize that our technological advances are less about creating something new or doing what’s never been done before, and more about awakening to our potential. About learning to use what we’ve always had. Like a baby learning to walk, or a bird to fly. It’s not about inventing, it’s about realizing what’s already possible.

There are infinite analogies that could illustrate my meaning, which makes perfect sense, really. Because maybe they’re not analogies. Maybe they’re proof. And maybe we all need to wake up to this new reality and recognize that the game hasn’t changed at all. The game is as it ever was, we’ve just been playing by the abridged version of the rules. And the only way to get our hands on the entire manual is to ditch what we’ve got and trust ourselves, and one another, enough to fly by the seat of our pants.

To believe that we are all simply different pieces of a singular puzzle, and to know that what’s good for each of us can no longer be determined in isolation. That which promotes our individual perpetuation must also perpetuate that of all.

No more Gulf of Tonkins. No more Ponzi Schemes. No more exporting toxic waste to third world countries. No more FDA approvals for putting poison in our food. No more perceived separation.

This is how I see the future unfolding

Idealistic, for sure. But I just can’t seem to imagine a viable alternative at this point. The way forward is clear…we must elevate.

Hopefully you are right, about the interpretation and the tendency. Technology surely could help us tap into these spheres, if we are willing to look at it as a real possibility.

Yes, or if we’re willing to look at the ability to create technology that seems miraculous not as revolutionary, but evolutionary. As a reflection of our very nature. As the natural progression of the human potential.

In reading your blog I’m reminded of others, including myself, who have embraced the notion that evolution of consciousness includes a process of awakening, or waking up to Truth. You may know of him, but if not, I steer you to a Russia philosopher named G.I. Gerdjieff who wrote and taught much on the subject.

“Self-observation brings man to the realization of the necessity of self-change. And in observing himself a man notices that self-observation itself brings about certain changes in his inner processes. He begins to understand that self-observation is an instrument of self-change, a means of awakening.” G.I. Gerdjieff

Gurdjieff claimed that people cannot perceive reality in their current state because they do not possess consciousness but rather live in a state of a hypnotic “waking sleep”.

“Man lives his life in sleep, and in sleep he dies.” As a result of this condition each person perceives things from a completely subjective perspective. Gurdjieff stated that maleficent events such as wars and so on could not possibly take place if people were more awake. He asserted that people in their typical state function as unconscious automatons, but that one can “wake up” and become a different sort of human being altogether.

Humanity, I think, is in the process of waking up collectively like never before. It couldn’t happen at a better time.

Thanks for the insights Lou-dog, Gerdijieff sounds like a man I need to acquaint myself with posthaste. And I hope you’re right about the ‘awakening’…I’d like to think we’re moving in that direction myself. In fact, I just got done writing more on the topic as I can’t seem to shake these ideas about what’s possible…what’s coming.

It’s not always easy to believe, but sometimes there’s just no other choice. Faith - not in God, but in ourselves - is requisite to this kind of change.

YES! Thank you, a timely post for me :)

I’ve long felt the interweb thingies were a physical form of the ways we’re all linked up energetically, telepathically etc.. the noosphere (roughly - the mental envelope around the earth) seems to me to be where this is linking us particularly.. and from there on out, we choose where to put the boundaries individually.

Thanks for the link Lindsay, I’ll definitely check it out. And sorry for the late reply, your comment got filtered out first time around (probably because of the link) so I didn’t see it right away. Cheers…
